Abylai Khan Square is a unique natural monument located at the foot of Kokshetau mountain in Burabay district, Akmola region. In 1991, a pillar was erected on Abylai Khan Square and the exposition complex “Abylai Khan” was opened by President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The area of the museum opened on Ablai Khan Square is 288 square meters.

In the middle of the XVIII century on the square of the present Abylai khan dances of the three zhuzs and nobles held Kurultai, Ablai was elected khan on white felt. Then Ablai stood up and said, “Be on the throne, and I will go to my soldiers. And this picturesque place is just a place for entertainment. “The khan's large square is called” Khan's mahogany”. Today, the small square of Abylai Khan is a popular gathering place for tourists from all over the world. In the middle of this square there is a 37-meter-high pole. It was built of white marble by architects led by Karaganda artist Erlan Aituarov. The octagonal monument is inside the circle.
The exposition complex includes three main objects: Abylai Khan's castle, history hall and koumiss. One of the most famous objects of the complex is Abylai Khan. It is a naturally occurring white granite stone. Abylai Khan Square is a natural monument characterized by a unique microclimate.
