Historical Complex “Bokei Ordasi”

The historical-museum complex “Bokei Ordasy” is located in the village of Khan Ordasy, Bokei Ordasy district, 550 km from the center of the West Kazakhstan region.

The historical-museum complex “Bokei Ordasy” is located in the village of Khan Ordasy, Bokei Ordasy district, 550 km from the center of the West Kazakhstan region. The Inner Kazakh or Bokei Horde is a historical place founded by Bokei and renewed by Zhangir. On the territory of the historical-museum complex there are monuments of the XIX century, preserved to this day and under state protection. The historical buildings, which are historical and architectural monuments, are combined.

Built in 1828, Khan Zhangir Palace is the only khan's palace preserved in Kazakhstan. The first fair in Kazakhstan, a school, a pharmacy, a hospital, a treasury, a girls' school, a fire station, a printing house, an anti-plague station and other institutions were built under the sky museum. like finished artifacts inside. Khan's buildings, a shopping mall, a hospital complex, and a school campus are still preserved in the Khan's rate, which was founded by Zhangir Khan, or in the Khan's Horde as it is now called. The historical and museum complex of Bokei Horde includes the Khan's Palace, the house of the doctor A.A. Sergachev, built in the XIX century, the mosque rebuilt on the project of the Khan Mosque, built in 1835, the building of the Treasury, opened in 1867, Targyn School in 1868, opened in 1883. There is a school building, five houses of the school campus of the XIX century, two hospital buildings opened in 1852 and a pantheon of mausoleums of Khan Zhangir, kuishi D. Shigayev, scientist M.S. Babazhanov, located 4 km from the village.

The historical-museum complex of Bokei Horde begins with the Horde Historical and Revolutionary Museum, which was opened in 1962 on a public basis on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the October Revolution. Due to the increase in the number of buildings belonging to the museum, the Museum of the History of the Horde was raised in 2002 to the status of a historical and museum complex of the Bokei Horde. In the building of the Treasury in the historical-museum complex of Bokei Horde there are museums “History of Bokei Horde”, which tell about the 200-year history of Bokei Horde, in the Khan Mosque - "Independence", in the eastern wing of the Khan's Palace – “Chamber of Arms in the Khan's Palace”. The Museum of Public Education in Bokei Horde was opened in 2007 at the Girls' School, which was reconstructed on the basis of the state program “Cultural Heritage”. The political and ideological activity of the later Alash intellectuals was closely connected with this horde.

In 2003, the Bokei Horde Historical and Museum Complex was accepted as a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and registered in Paris.
