The mausoleum is located in Karaoba, Toganas rural district, Syrym district, West Kazakhstan region. As a young man, Zhumagazy was a religious figure who studied and served in the mosque of Hazrat Sultan Khoja Ahmed Yassawi in Turkestan for several years.

One of the legends about the virtues and mysteries of Hazrat Zhumagazy: “After returning from Turkestan, Hazrat Zhumagazy met with the elders of the Kazakh tribes living in the area between the present-day Syrym and Terekty districts. But the rabbis do not listen to Zhumagazi's request. At that moment, Zhumagazy, who was turning away, saw a fire burning behind him. One of the elders noticed this and said, "Oh, people, this man was not a free man. We have to fulfill his request and give him land!" According to another legend, which describes his special qualities, it is said: Then the scaly ice cart lifted its feathers, and the puppy that followed the cart crawled and blessed the water. It is believed that Zhumagazy was the land of modern Tamasai and Ubeniyaz pastures. Although winter pastures are in Karaoba, in summer they are located in the south-west, in Kauz and Tamasai.

These days, his hometown, Karaoba, is busy. Many people come from far and wide to visit the bural place of the saint and spend the night there.
