It is located in the north-western part of Almaty on the left bank of the Big Almaty River. Chronological date: 8th-3d centuries B.C and 3d century BC.
Covering an area of 430 hectares, the area of the archeological park “Boroldai Sak barrow” consists of 47 large Sak and more than 200 Uisun barrows of Early Iron Age. It is a unique monument of the Early Iron Age, not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the CIS, on the scale of the Asian continent. Archaeologists call these mounds, which make up the main part of the cemetery, from 10 to 14 meters in height, “the burial complex of the royal family”. This is the burial place of Sak and Uisun tribesmen and commanders. Boralday barrows, one of the largest objects of Kazakh history, are the only line of burial mounds in the country, which unites the burials of Saks and Uisuns. The cemetery in the middle of the mound may be a Sak temple. According to scientists, there are rituals associated with the calendar.
