The Republic Square - the Monument of Independence

The Republic Square is a venue for festive parades of the Almaty community of workers and for military parades. It was opened in 1980s. In the center of the Independence Monument, which is rooted in Kazakh applied art, the composition is made up of cubic pillars covered with national ornament and reaches 28 meters in height.

The head of the central pillar, tucked into the blue sky, is a tulip-shaped, with the coat of arms of Kazakhstan engraved on it. On top of it is a bronze snow leopard, an eagle bird is in his right hand, a bow is in his left hand, a dagger is in his belt and a chain mail on a shoulder, and a strong armor of a young warrior with gold-plated arrows (6 m high and 4 t in weight) with formidability, it clearly reflects the strength and scale of the Independence Monument.
