Museum-House of Akhmet Baytursynuly

The cultural and scientific address dedicated to the life and career of Akhmet Baitursynov is located at the junction of A. Baitursynov and Zhambyl streets in Almaty. The house where A. Baitursynov lived from 1934 to 1937 was officially opened as a museum in 1998 on the eve of the 125th anniversary of the poet.

The cultural and scientific address dedicated to the life and career of Akhmet Baitursynov is located at the junction of A. Baitursynov and Zhambyl streets in Almaty. The house where A. Baitursynov lived from 1934 to 1937 was officially opened as a museum in 1998 on the eve of the 125th anniversary of the poet. The museum consists of a 1.5 floor building. It has four rooms and a basement. Basement - office of museum staff. Three rooms - an exhibition hall, one room - an auditorium. On the scientist's birthday, September 5, the traditional Akhmet studies “Bow to the person” are held annually.

A. Baitursynov (1873-1938) - alash leader, poet, great linguist, literary researcher, turkologist, publicist, teacher, translator, public figure. He was arrested in October 1937 and shot in February 1938 after several months of investigation. The prisoner answered the questions of investigators as follows: “My dream is to raise the wealth and culture of the Kazakh people to the highest possible level. Since that good deed is just beginning, I have the power to satisfy only my desires”.

In the yard of the museum there is a bust of the teacher of the nation A. Baitursynov.
