Kapal Batyr was an outstanding commander during the reign of his brothers Tauekel and Esim khans, who lived in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. The mausoleum was built on the slopes of Eshkiolmes mountain, 80 km from Taldykorgan-Kapal road, Eskeldy district, Almaty region, over the grave of Kapal batyr Zhanysuly (1513-1606). The mausoleum is rectangular with five domes and is made of white silicate brick. The domes are made of metal structures and covered with galvanized copper.

He was a famous hero in the liberation of the Kazakh cities along the Syrdarya from the enemy and in the struggle against the Dzungar invasion in the east of the Kazakh Khanate. Chokan Valikhanov's unanimous opinion that "Kapal station is named after Kapal Batyr" in his "Dzungarian Essays" led to the discovery of Kapal Batyr's grave.
