The museum of remembrance for the victims of political repressions, located in the village of Dolinka, Karaganda region, is the most famous correctional labor camp in Kazakhstan. Many talented and intelligent sons of the Kazakh people are known as “counter-revolutionary assassins”, “organizers of terrorist acts”, “Japanese spies”, etc. was the victim of fabricated accusations. They tried to confess to their "crimes" using torture methods that were officially allowed. The whole country considered them “enemies of the people” and tried to deprive their children of their parents and their wives of their spouses. The years 1937-1938 were the culmination of the political violence perpetrated by Stalin's brutal regime, which massacred innocent people.On April 5, 1997, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On declaring May 31 the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repressions” was issued.
