Doszhan Ishan Mosque is located in Temir district of Aktobe region. Doszhan Ishan (1815-1890) was a propagator of Islam in the territory of Western Kazakhstan. He organized pilgrimages among the Kazakhs, built a takiya house for Kazakhs in the Arab world, Mecca, compiled the "Kazakh Chronicle" and demanded a "separate mufti for the Kazakhs" from the colonial government in the 80s of the XIX century, etc. He is one of the most famous figures in history.
He built a modern mosque near Shubarkuduk for a Burmese carpenter. One hundred people could pray freely in the mosque. In general, there is an opinion that the design of the mosque was based on the Yunusov Mosque in Kazan. Some speculate that it had six domes, while others suggested that it had nine domes. We believe that the idea of "six domes" is true. It turned out that two colored bricks were used. The people will help with the main construction work. The interior of the mosque was decorated with ornaments, and the light from the outside illuminated all the patterns. The verses and hadiths are written in red. According to the information received to date, there was a madrasah for 150 children and a guest house near the mosque. The domes were demolished during the Soviet era.
Doszhan Ishan first went on pilgrimage at the age of 16, then in 1870-1874, and the third time in the mid-1880s. His descendants built a beautiful mosque on his burial ground, which is now a sacred place of pilgrimage.
