Karaman Ata cemetery and underground mosque (XIII-XIX centuries), located 35 km south-west of Shetpe village, Mangistau district, 5 km west of Kandybas winter pasture, is one of the oldest and largest cemeteries in Mangistau.

The cemetery includes medieval tombstones, stone fences, domes built in the second half of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century by Adai masters, and many saganatams. In the western part of the cemetery there is an underground mosque Karaman Ata. The mosque consists of three rooms.According to legends, Karaman Ata, the son of Isan Ata, the son of Shopan Ata, had the same power in all respects as his grandfather. Karaman Ata cemetery and underground mosque were the places where Karaman Ata's oath of purity and honesty was held.

It was a place where the spear was aimed at each other, focusing on the difficult issues that led to the conflict and bloodshed between the country and the country, tribe and tribe. According to another legend, he came to Karaman Ata Mosque to take an oath in order to stop the long-running bloodshed between Turkmens and Adais. The Turkmens and Adais, who saw the power of Karaman Ata and Beket Ata, stopped the bloodshed and swore that there would be no more conflicts. Therefore, for the country, tribe and people, Karaman Ata Mosque was considered a powerful place that gathered, united and made friends of the country, tribe and people.
