Mangistau region is located 20 km north-west of the village Shetpe, on the banks of the Akmysh spring. Chronological period: X-XIII centuries.The size of the monument is 50 hectares. Kyzyl-Kala was a large trade and handicraft city. Surrounding the fortress is a city of merchants and businessmen. The discovery of pottery, baked bricks and fragments of iron, copper, precious metals, stone mills, sickles testify to the existence of factories and the development of ancient farming.The results of the study of individual artifacts found here allow us to determine the import of goods such as Iranian pottery, Egyptian and Chinese beads, Baltic amber. Today, the town square is called Kyzylkala, since it consists of pottery and broken red bricks. In the second half of the XIII century, after the collapse of the Khorezm state from the Mongol invasion, the city lost its economic significance due to the change in sea level and the reorientation of trade routes.
