It is located 30 km north-west of Taushyk aul of Tupkaragan district of Mangistau region, near Sarytas Bay. The cemetery of the Sultan Epe underground mosque dates back to the X-XIX centuries. According to research, the Sultan lived in the XIII-XIV centuries.

His real name is Kubbi, a disciple of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi, the son of Hakim Ata (Suleimen Bakyrgani).The mosque, carved out of stone, consists of several chamber parts. The Sultan's gorge and well are also noteworthy. The well, dug 6 meters from the cliff, has clean, cool and very tasty water. According to legend, the Sultan was a savior of mankind from floods. People begged, “Sultan, save me from the flood”. He raised the dead from the skin and bones.
