Uali khan (1781-1821) was the khan of the Middle Zhuz. From an early age he came to power and took part in the campaigns of Abylai Khan in Dzungaria and Central Asia. In 1769, he leaded the Kazakh embassy in China. After the death of his father Abylai khan in 1781, at the will of Abylai khan, the people's assembly elected his eldest son Uali as the new khan of the Middle Zhuz. Uali Khan announced his appointment to St. Petersburg and Beijing and asked the Russian and Chinese governments to recognize him as the khan of the Middle Zhuz. In 1781, Russia and China recognized the royal authority of Valikhan. In early January, it was established by the Qin emperor as Wali Khan. On February 23 of this year, he was confirmed as a khan of the Middle Zhuz by a special tsar's letter.
After his death, the sons of his second wife inherited. Genghis Valikhan, born to Gubaidullah and his younger wife Aiganym, was elected the first senior sultan of Kokshetau and Kushmurun districts.
The great Kazakh scientist Chokan Chingizovich Valikhanov is the grandson of Uali khan. The mausoleum is located in the village of Kazakhstan, Zerendi district.
