Abylai Khan's residence is located in Petropavlovsk, the center of the North Kazakhstan region. There is a lot of controversy about the fact that the complex "Residence of Ablai Khan" is called the house of Ablai.

The house, built in 1765, was not a “khan's residence”, as at that time Ablai had only the title of sultan. At the request of Abylai Khan and with the permission of the tsarist government, a house was actually built near the river Ishim. The house is made of wood. It covers many state and political issues. According to legend, this house caught fire, and then in 1829 this two-story stone house was built instead.

The residence of Abylai Khan, opened in 2008, has exhibits and a diorama depicting the khan of the Kazakh Horde of the XVIII century, a prominent statesman, commander, diplomat. Prior to the exposition, the residence was called “White House”, “House of Abylai Khan”, “Military Infirmary”.
