The place of birth of Chokan Valikhanov, which dates back to the 1920s, is the settlement of Syrymbet, the wife of the Middle Zhuz khan Uali Abylaikhan, the settlement of Chokan Valikhanov's grandmother. It is located in Syrymbet aul of Aiyrtau district of North Kazakhstan region.Ms. Aiganym's settlement consists of a pine house, a mosque, a madrasah, a bathhouse, a stable, and a windmill. Aiganym is the youngest wife of Uali, the first son of Abylai Khan. In his time, Tsar Alexander I issued an order to build a complex for the winter in the Syrymbet. Historical documents show that this complex was built from 1824 to 1834. A.K. Gaines described the residence of Princess Aiganym in Syrymbet. It was restored in 1985 and the Chokan Valikhanov Republican Historical and Ethnographic Museum was opened. At that time, the legendary Valikhanovs' settlement on the slopes of Syrymbet was restored. Basically, Chokan's paintings about his ancestral homeland were used as a guide. Thus, the settlement, created for the benefit of the country, is located on the slopes of the mysterious Syrymbet with its unique appearance. Today, the historical and ethnographic museum of Chokan and the settlement of Aiganym are combined to form a museum complex in Syrymbet.
