It is located 3 km north of Besterek aul, Ulan district, East Kazakhstan region, at the hillside of Akbauyr mountain. The territory of the historical and archeological complex “Akbauyr” contains petroglyphs of different epochs, burials of the Bronze Age, burial mounds of the Early Iron Age, including rare "mustache" burial mounds, burials dating back to the early Middle Ages. The reddish-purple ocher paintings on the walls of the cave date back to BC. It belongs to the beginning of V-III millennium. There were complex rituals and funeral rites related to the seasonal-calendar cycle, as well as astronomical observations of the Sun, Moon and stars, marking the equinox and solar eclipse.Researchers confirm the conclusions of scientists that a systematic astronomical observation was made here, and the graphic petroglyphs of the Neolithic period indicate the appearance of pictographic letters (pictogram - an ancient form of writing marked by conventional drawings). Ore ingots were found here, replicating the shape of stone wells, the remains of large and small blast furnaces in the gorge.According to some researchers, the Akbauyr complex is an energy and information generator. It is convenient to visit this unique place on March 22 and September 22. It is the time of spring and autumn equinoxes. There are only two such complexes in the world with inscriptions in a stone cave, like the territory of a rock yurt. Surprisingly, the roof of the cave has a large hole where the light shines during the day and the stars are visible at night.
