South Kazakhstan region is located on the southern slopes of the Karatau in the valley of the river Balabogen. The mausoleum has been rebuilt several times and is still in its original form. The mausoleum was overhauled in 1996 according to the project of architect S. Toktamysh.The mausoleum was built at the grave of Domalak Ana (real name Nurila).Domalak (Nurila) is the granddaughter of Maktym Agzam Khoja from Turkestan. He was born in 1378 in Turkestan. At the behest of her grandfather Maktym Agzam, Domalak ana married Baidibek bi at the age of nineteen (1397). According to local sources, she was nicknamed “Dihnat Ana” by a man of Turkish origin, Kara Haidar. “Dihnat mama” is a Persian word. In the Kazakh language it means “Holy Ana”. Over time, the word "Dihnat mama" underwent sound changes and became “round mother”. All his descendants were distinguished by their knowledge and wisdom and ruled the country.According to the legend, there are two sacred stones in the Domalak Ana mausoleum, among which only a pious person can pass. This dome-cemetery has become a special place of pilgrimage in the country.
