The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi is a jewel of medieval architecture in Turkistan. It was built at the end of the 14th century by order of Amir Timur over the grave of the great thinker Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.

In 2003, the mausoleum was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. For centuries, this towering building with its blue dome has been a sacred place of pilgrimage for the peoples of Central Asia.
