The memorial complex "Kazakh country" is the first monumental monument in history dedicated to the historical destiny of Kazakhs.

The opening took place on the day of the 10th anniversary of the capital - July 6, 2008 - with the participation of the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev.

It represents a stele with birds Samruk installed on its top and four bronze bas-reliefs at the base: "The First President and the people of Kazakhstan", "Courage", "Creation" and "Future".

The total area of the monument is 5 hectares, the area of the adjacent territory is 11 hectares.

The authors of the monument are the architect Samatbek Bokebay and the artist Sembigali Smagulov.

The height of the monument is 91 meters, which symbolizes 1991, when Kazakhstan became an independent state. The marble foundation of the monument represents purity of thoughts and interethnic harmony of the people of Kazakhstan. Stela, looking upwards, on top of which the sacred bird Samruk is installed, demonstrates the desire of the people of Kazakhstan for further development and prosperity.

It is symbolic that the authors decided to create a multi-figure sculptural ensemble, which is divided into four bas-reliefs. Each of them initially has its own meaning and idea and aims to show different facets and phenomena of the history of the country. For example, in the complex "Heroes" - "Courage" - the images of ancient soldiers and modern defenders of the Fatherland symbolize the heroic episodes of the country's development.

One of the bright elements of the ensemble is the composition "The First President and the People", where the First President of the Republic, as a symbol of Kazakhstan's independence, swears an oath of loyalty to the people and the country. In the central part of the composition "Zhasampazdyk" - "Creation" - the main is the image of the Man-creator - in the person of a metallurgist and oilman, an engineer and a grain grower, a builder and an astronaut.

The future of the country is brightly reflected in the monument. The composition theme of the bas-relief "Bolashak" - "Future" - demonstrates the spirit of the youth, the desire to achieve the Kazakhstan dream.

Unexpected decision of architects can be considered the construction in another part of the bas-relief "Bolash" - "Future" - a pair figure of the newlyweds. After all, it is not so often possible to meet monuments or monuments, where there is an appeal to the value of marriage and family. Next to them are figures of young people who symbolize not only youth, optimism, the desire for a new, but also the fact that the entire nation is young and growing, and hence - ambitious. It is no coincidence, as historians note, that the eighteenth year in the history of sovereign Kazakhstan is another milestone on the way to achieving new and grandiose heights.

On the square near the monument "Kazakh Eli" are located one of the main objects of public and cultural life of the country: the Palace of Independence, the Palace of Creativity "Shabyt", the Mosque "Khazret Sultan", the Palace of Peace and Harmony.
