Kyzyr Tower

The center of Turkestan region is located in Shymkent, on the river Sayramsu. The tower was built in the X century. There is an underground road three and a half kilometers south of the tower.

In one room of the tower there was a door to the underground passage. This information has long been kept secret from the country. There was a staircase inside the tower.According to the narrations and historical sources, the real name of the Prophet (pbuh) was Ilyas ibn Malkan ibn Amir ibn Shalih ibn Arfahshid ibn Sam ibn Noah. After the conversion of Sairam region to Islam, he built a large minaret and a mosque in the center of the city and named it "Kyzyr" tower in honor of the Prophet. The open-minded clerics considered Kyzyr to be one of the living prophets. It is called Hizr because the color of the place where he is sitting immediately turns green. The green color and the blossoming of the earth are called "hezra" in Arabic. Hizr is known among Muslims as a prophet of water.Kyzyr is one of the prophets of Islam. In some cultures, it is considered to be the guardian of those who travel to the sea, and it is also considered to be the guardian of fire, flood, theft, and snake bites.
