South Kazakhstan region is located 4 km south of Turkestan, 400-500 meters to the left of the highway Turkestan - Shauldir.Gaukhar Ana mausoleum (XII-XIV centuries) portal-dome construction. Mother Gaukhar is the daughter of the great poet and thinker Hodja Ahmed Yassavi. Legend has it that Mother Gaukhar had a special healing power. It is not known when the mother died, only that she was born in 1122-1124 and died about 1187-97.Legend has it that Gaukhar did not have a mother. The father said that he comforted his daughter by saying, "Everyone who is healed is your child." During tsarist Russia, the monument was destroyed and half of it collapsed. Later, after gaining independence, the mausoleum was repaired and rebuilt. Today the mausoleum of Gaukhar Ana has a lot of visitors. Many are seeking a cure. Talai hopes that the holy mother, who healed the soul, will be rewarded. Some have even recovered from their illness. The mausoleums are architecturally harmonious, mainly for women.
