Zhauke Nazargululi (1822-1904) - a hero who fought against the colonial policy of the Russian Empire. He joined Kenesary Kassymov's uprising after 1838 and he was prominent in the capture of the Akmola fortress. Soldiers under the command of Zhauke Batyr were one of the first to enter the fortress. Later he captured the fortresses of Aktau and Or. In 1842, due to the perseverance and confidence of Iman and Zhauke batyrs, Kenesary Kasymuly spent the winter on the banks of the Turgai. Later Kenesary Khan's horde was moved here.Kenesary's soldiers were especially prominent in the clashes with the colonizers on the Ulkeyek River, in the settlements of Tolybai and Balapan, in the war against the detachment of the Russian government Akhmet Zhanturin in 1844, during the attack on Ekaterinsk station. The hero, who cared about the people, was honored by the country for his justice and wisdom.Well-known historian Ermukhan Bekmakhanov's study “National liberation uprising led by Kenesary Kasymuli” mentions the name of Zhauke Batyr, in the novel-trilogy “Nomads” by Ilyas Esenberlin, in the epic “Crow” by the poet Nurkhan Akhmetbekov.
