The Memorial complex is 18 km from Zhosaly village of Karmakshy district of Kyzylorda region, at the bottom of Korkyt station. It is located one kilometer from the burial place of Korkyt Ata I. The memorial complex “Korkyt Ata” consists of several architectural structures: “hanging pipes” - the image of four kobyzs looking in all directions, the sound of the kobyz when the wind blows; “Pyramid of Wishes”, amphitheater, griffin and a ram, a museum, which forms an assembled image of a ram.The complex is dedicated to the great thinker, zhyrau, kobyz player Korkyt Ata, common to all Turkic peoples. Korkyt Ata is one of the saints of the Syr region. A written monument confirming the historical identity of Korkyt Ata is the “Book of Korkyt Ata” (“Kitabi dadam Korkud”). The Kipchak branch has a common heritage with the Turks of Oguz descent and the peoples of Azerbaijan. The Kazakh people recognize Korkyt as the ancestor of the kui. Korkyt Ata is portrayed as a zhyrau, a wise man, a genius, a leader, a shaman, a kuishi. Korkyt Ata is a great thinker of the Oguz-Kipchak tribes, a swamp abyss, a daulesker kuishi, a fortune teller who predicts the future. It is wise to watch over the survival of the people from external enemies and internal strife. He is an expert who always marks the migration of people, their place of residence, their brand, their motto. Korkyt is the owner of the flute, the grandfather of the kobyz. He left the wisdom that “in life there is death, there is change, there is no immortality, there is no unbreakable iron, everything dies, changes, is forgotten, only that which is immortal and unforgettable is the result of good deeds in human life”.
