Zhylagan Ata Cave is located about 80 km from Turkestan, on the Karatau ridge, north of the village of Abay, along the river Zhylagan Ata. It was once formed by the fall of rocks. Down the gorge on the left bank of the river from a height of 10-12 m there is a hollow with a diameter of 15-18 cm. From time to time water gushes from this cavity.Today many people visit it.
The cave is like an ordinary waterfall. Unlike a waterfall, water does not always flow from the “Crying Father”, but only to the person who reads the Koran. Even though it flows to some people, it does not flow to others. The reason for this is that “the water of the saint flows to those who have good intentions, and the evil eye does not flow to a person,” the elders explain. If you walk along the cave, a rock will come up and water will drip from it. It is called “Tears of a crying grandfather”.A person who has tasted water wants to drink it again and again. But do not boil water in a bowl. Then the water immediately disappears from the source. Once geologists heard about the power of this cave from a distance and came to the head of Zhylagan Ata, saying that “it must be just a wave of the sea” and conducted research. It takes two months to find out where the water from the cave came from. But during this time, no water came out of the cave. The astonished researchers shook their heads and said, “This is indeed the power of the Almighty!” that is. On the right side of the cave there is a small mausoleum - oval. Legend has it that an unborn woman who spends the night in this sofa will have a baby.
